Spring HTRSA Picnic: A Grand Slam Celebration for Hamilton Soccer!
What a day it was in Hamilton! On Friday June 13th, the Spring HTRSA Picnic truly outdid itself, bringing together an incredible community for what has become a cherished annual tradition. This wasn’t just any picnic; it was the grand culmination of a fantastic Spring soccer season that saw over 1,000 kids participate across 54 recreational soccer teams and 16 travel soccer teams!
Hundreds of smiling faces, from enthusiastic young players to proud parents and community members, converged to celebrate. The air buzzed with excitement as everyone enjoyed classic picnic favorites like sizzling porkroll and juicy hotdogs. For those with a sweet tooth, there was an endless supply of fluffy cotton candy and icy-cold snow cones. The little ones, and even some not-so-little ones, had a blast bouncing sky-high in the popular bounce houses. It was a perfect day for teammates, families, and the wider Hamilton community to connect, laugh, and make lasting memories.
HTRSA put on one heck of an event. There were numerous activities from the pick up soccer games to soccer darts and who could miss the GIANT bounce houses and inflatable obstacle course. The event gets a little better each year, and this year was no different.
Cheers to Our Unsung Heroes: The Volunteers and Gregg Smith!
An event of this magnitude doesn’t just happen; it takes a village, and the HTRSA owes a massive thank you to every single volunteer who dedicated their time and energy. From the Grill Masters who perfected every bite, to the friendly Food Servers, and the wizards behind the cotton candy and snow cone machines, your hard work made the day incredibly special for everyone.
And speaking of special, we need to give a huge shout-out to Gregg Smith, Vice President of HTRSA! Gregg was the undeniable force orchestrating this amazing celebration. He tirelessly organized everything, from ensuring all the delicious food was purchased to coordinating the small army of volunteers. Gregg’s dedication is a shining example of what HTRSA stands for, and he’s truly a pillar of the Hamilton Soccer Community.
HTRSA cannot run without volunteers. Each year it gets harder to find all of the people required to make things run smoothly. We are constantly hunting for coaches, people to work at the facility, people to create fliers, update the website, and generally keep the lights on. There is something magical about volunteering and seeing the bright faces of the kids. If you have ever considered volunteering, please contact us at [email protected], we promise we don’t bite, there is no task too small to help with, and we can find something that YOU can do.
The Spring HTRSA Picnic perfectly showcased the vibrant spirit and strong sense of community that defines our organization. We’re already counting down the days until next year’s celebration!
